「国のない男」（カート･ヴィォネガット）

２００７年の４月１１日、カート･ヴィォネガットが他界した。「猫の揺り篭」、「プレイヤー・ピアノ」等、アメリカ文学を代表する著者である。独特な世界観の中で紡ぎ出される言葉の一つ一つが、心に突き刺さって来る、そんな作家に思われる

この著者最後の著作は、「国のない男」である。一文、一文読み進め度に、ちょっとひねくれた笑いが出たり、何だろう…考え込んでみたりするのではくても、面白くもないアメリカンジョーク？軽妙だが深刻、おかしいが悲しい、荒唐無稽（こうとうむけい）っぽいが妙にリアル。ヴォネガットの小説は、複雑にして単純な人間の姿をみごとに描き出してきた。エッセイにしてもまたしかり。

も「ああ、カート･ヴィォネガットだなあ」となんだか妙に優しい気持ちになってしまう。

最後に本書の中にあった言葉を書きたいと思う。「変わった旅の提案―　神のところに踊りレッセンを受けに行ってはどうだろう。」
　
今頃、カート･ウオネガットは神のところに踊りレッセンを受けに行っているかもしれない…

漫画・アニメ界の巨匠・松本零士氏がプロデュースする、未来型水上バス「ヒミコ」が、2004年3月26日から浅草～お台場間を運航しています。
「ヒミコ」は、松本零士氏が「ティアドロップ（涙滴）」をイメージ・コンセプトに、「子供たちが乗ってみたいと思ってくれる船」として、デザインを手がけられました。また、船内では同氏の代表作「銀河鉄道999」のキャラクターたちを船内放送に起用して、星野鉄郎、メーテル、車掌さんと一緒に旅しているような体験をお楽しみいただけます。

Newly constructed Water Bus “Himiko” Produced by Mr. Leiji Matsumoto,one of the best renowned Japanese cartoonists, now runs from Asakusa to Odaiba Seaside Park, to Hinode Pier and then back to Asakusa.
“Himiko” is a completely unique water bus with its streamline shaped body with 3D windows. Mr. Matsumoto designed based on its concepts, “the image of teardrop” and “the ship appealing to children.” During the daytime the futuristic ship runs through old Edo and modern Tokyo while enjoying 360-degree panoramic view. At night the floor panels are lit up and emphasize the ship’s sophisticated design. “Himiko” is named after Queen Himiko who was the first recognized independent lady in Japanese history.

It was Buffet dinner party. A minister Of Singapore has been invited as GOH,
and together with Ambassador of Japan, the two had stepped up at the stage
for a ceremony. Some relevant Singaporean and Japanese, about 200 or so have been there.EVERYONE in Executive Committee list Of JUGAS have been invited by Embassy of Japan.

「日本語で遊ぼう」

この度、「日本語で遊ぼう」というJUGASのイベントがありました。今回は、第7回目の主催で、私は、シンガポール日本人学校の先生と組んで、司会をしていました。しかし、生理痛のため、反応が遅くて、去年ほど能力を発揮することが出来なかったのです、ちょっど、悔しいなと思います。体調が悪いという訳以外に、準備不足もその司会役として、十分に能力を発揮できなないことに起因したように思われます。

この頃、仕事で、あまり余裕がないのは事実だね、まあ～明日は、明日の風が吹くから、自分への不満を早く忘れたいわ～～

Nihongo de Asobou 2007 ― 日本語で遊ぼう2007
17th November 2007, 2pm ~ 6pm　　　
Japanese Association, Singapore, 2/F Ballrooms

This “日本語で遊ぼう2007” was successfully held at the above Date and Time and Venue. The event is meant for students, who study beginners’ to intermediate levels of Japanese language, to enjoy games involving application of Japanese language and learning of Japanese culture. The event also allows participants from secondary schools to working adults to interact with one another over the challenge of the games.

This is the 7th time that the event was organized by JUGAS (Japanese University Graduates Association of Singapore).


This year, we had the teachers from Singapore Japanese Schools (貴志先生, 石山先生, 田中先生, 真田先生, 平野先生, 林先生, 菅原先生 & 吉田先生) and the teachers from MOELC (See-Tow 先生, Pauline Lue 先生 & Nicole Lim 先生) to design and run the games for the 4-hour event.


There were 62 persons registered and 53 turned out for the event. The participants included students from MOELC, Nanyang Polytechnic, and 2 Primary Schools’ students.


The participants were divided into 8 teams, to compete with one another in the 4 games, 百人一首, 言葉たたきゲーム, 絵描き／ジェスチャー・ゲーム, つんでつんで ジャパニーズ. The 5th Game was 漢字で脳トレ, which trained the brains of the students in Kanji learning. Prizes were awarded to the top scoring team of each game. Participants were also introduced to Origami in the beginning of the event, learning to fold complicated shapes of objects with Japanese coloured Origami Paper. The Origami-Sumo folded by the students were put into Sumo Wrestling game duration the break time, and created a lot of excitement!


The response from the participants was very positive and encouraging. This shows that the students learning Japanese language are eager to practice what they have learnt in a fun-filled game-playing environment.
